Surprise Candy Box

The candy is amazing and it does say that some won't be wrapped and that melting can occur because it is hot out there. The candy bars were a giant melted pile and they leaked into the outer box.

I was very excited to place my order as I haven’t had most of the mainstream candies in the last 8 years since I went vegan. The package was delivered today, to my work, straight into my hands by UPS, so it wasn’t sitting outside for any period of time. The box was extremely warm to the touch and upon opening it, both ice packs were melted and warm. All 24 chocolate bars melted. There was no salvaging them even if put into the fridge. The chocolate was stuck and spread across the wrapping paper and the paper was soaked in oil. It wasn’t as if these even had a chance. There was no formation of chocolate bars whatsoever and no way of telling what kind of bar it was even supposed to be. The pretzels in one of the packs were soft, likely from being in melted chocolate for days. There’s a little note on the top of the box that’s says they won’t issue refunds for melted chocolate because they’re a small business, but I won’t pay $70 for candy I can’t eat because it’s melted into lumps and stuck to the wrapping paper.

The only bars that survived were the nut bars; almost like PayDays with a sweet cream frosting. Everything else was a mess and no admit of registration time was going to fix it or make the pretzels crunchy again.

I’m all for small business; I’m all for vegan options holding their share of the market; but I won’t pay double the store prices for items that come in melted to a point where it’s not edible.

We got the box of fully wrapped candies. Not the surprise box. We got less candy then the surprise box but it was all wrapped. Non the less the candy was delicious.

The surprise box contained several small paper bags, each with 1 wrapped bar and 3 unwrapped bars. They were described as being misfits, whether the shape or size was not up to the standards for regular sale. The price was discounted quite a bit, and the taste and quality of the chocolate was outstanding. In a good way! I ordered some of the regular bars, with the normal appearance and wrappers, but the quality of the surprise bars was just as good. Absolutely delicious and no problems with the quality. A real bargain - great candy at a discounted price.
